Jerry West, also nicknamed "Mr. Clutch" for his ability to perform under pressure, has a career filled with iconic moments. Here are his top 5 moments.

With just seconds left on the clock in a close game against the New York Knicks, West launched an incredible shot from behind half court.

1. 1970 NBA Finals:

While the Lakers ended up losing the game and the series, this shot cemented West's legend.

The Lakers were heavy underdogs against the Boston Celtics in the 1969 Finals.

2. 1969 Finals MVP Despite the Odds:

However, West averaged a staggering 37.9 points per game and won Finals MVP despite the Lakers losing the series.

After years of heartbreak in the Finals, West finally got his championship ring in 1972.

3. 1972 NBA Finals Win:

The Lakers defeated the Knicks in 6 games, with West averaging 33.8 points per game. This win capped off a brilliant playing career for West.

As an executive for the Lakers, West's most impactful move might have been drafting Kobe Bryant in 1996 and trading for Shaquille O'Neal in 1996.

4. The Kobe-Shaq Era Begins:

This duo would lead the Lakers to three consecutive championships from 2000 to 2002.

While West wasn't a player anymore, the 1985 championship win for the Lakers over the Celtics held special significance.

5. 1985 NBA Championship:

It was the first time the Lakers had beaten their arch-rivals in the Finals since West was a player, and it marked a changing of the guard in the NBA.
